I’ve had all of these products for a good year with the cleansing oil being my first purchase in the line. Now, I’ve had other Boscia products - in sample form and masks - but these are the only full products that I have in my possession. I’ve been using them on and off and really, I haven’t come across many people who make mention of the products.

One day, I saw all of them lined up in my bathroom and the thought came to my mind to do a full review on them. They aren’t empties (since they really aren’t fully incorporated into my daily routine) but for as long as I’ve used them, I can tell you how I feel about them.

Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil

This might sound weird, but this is the oldest product that I have in my stash. Not to say that it’s bad. I’ve had it for about a year and a half now. It doesn’t look or smell bad and the reason I have it still is because I had a love-hate relationship with this cleansing oil.

When I first got into makeup, I would only do single cleanse or barely cleanse my face like I do now. It wasn’t until I fully got into Asian skincare that I got into double cleansing and cleansing oils. My first oil was actually the cleansing balm from Clinique. When I wanted to try actual oils, I picked this up.

I was so excited to try this oil and the first time I used it, began the hate of the relationship. My skin reacted like I’ve never seen before. My pores became enlarged and it added extra texture to my cheeks that I didn’t think possible. Now, it didn’t burn and it wasn’t itch but if I tried to continue on with my routine, by the time I got to the end, my skin just looked terrible. I had to re-wash my face and start over again. If I didn’t, the next morning my skin would not be happy.

I stopped using the oil, trying other oils and just double cleansing with foam cleansers, but I tried the oil again and still had the same results. I was so upset that this oil that others were loving didn’t love me back. I resorted to using the oil to help with cleansing my brushes and sponges.

It wasn’t until recently that I started to use the oil again. Lo and behold, my skin is okay with it...or so I thought. I had three major breakouts on my face since using it. I thought it may be the Arbutin but in reality, it's the oil. I just can’t win. Since it’s an old product, I will be going into the trash and never purchased again. I still have my The Face Shop rice oil cleanser but I will now start my hunt for another.

(L to R: Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil, Exfoliating Peeling Gel, Sake Bright White Mask)

Exfoliating Peeling Gel

This peeling gel is like any peeling gel but this was the first one I ever got. Like the oil, it was an impulse buy. Matter of fact, all three of these were impulse buys XD.

This gel works as a physical exfoliant and a chemical peel. The gel is formulated to do it's “magical” peel, balling into the small balls of product, excess oil, and flaky skin while getting deep down with “multi-fruit AHAs” and pomegranate enzymes.

The peel doesn’t have a smell and was one of my favorite ways to exfoliate. I did have problems with it. The reason I only exfoliate once a week now is because this gel kind of showed that I was over-exfoliating physically.

It started to stop balling up on my face and would just be a light gel that I put on and then wash off. My skin would feel different and kind of tight but just not doing the peel. I just started using this gel as a chemical peel. I would apply it, let it sit for a few minutes, and then wash it off. My skin had no crazy reaction when I did this but I was still upset when it would do the thing I bought it for: ball up!

I haven’t used it some time now and it keeps for a while (until 2019). I might try to incorporate it back in, just to use up but I have the Neogen bio-peel and actives now that keep the flaky skin and oils at bay.

Sake Bright White Mask

Last of the trio was something I saw one day I went looking in the Sephora in JCP. I didn’t buy it then but wanted to try it before. The sample, of course, sold me on it and I got the full size.

The Sake Bright White Mask is a peel-off mask that helps with brightening the skin and with hydration. It’s a cool mask that has a mother-of-pearl finish to it. I wanted to compare it to Glamglow’s Gravitymud mask but it isn’t that iridescent.

The mask has the distinct scent of sake. Very strong from the get go and lingers after application. It’s not an artificial scent either; sake is incorporated into the formula to help hydrate and brighten the skin.

After using the mask, my skin does look brighter and it’s fun skintertainment like the peeling gel. It’s good peel off mask to try and have in your arsenal for spa days. If used, you can’t go thin on the layer. A thick layer of the mask is needed to help peel and get the full effect. Which in turns uses up the tube quite quickly.

Have you tried any of these products? Any favorite Boscia products? Leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Until next post!

XOXO
