#XOReviews: Maybelline Brow Drama Shaping Chalk Powder

I received this product from Influenster for free for review purposes.

I was excited to get this product because this was my first Vox box from Influenster and I really like Maybelline products.

Once I received the box, I was surprised that I not only got the chalk powder but also the BrowPrecise Micro pencil. Two for one! I tried it out immediately and going out and about.

The first thing I noticed when I took the product out was the rattle. Why is it rattling? There appears to be a ball of some sort in the cap. I don’t know if that is for the product or whatever.

You receive 1.0g of powder while the pencil is 60mg. Both products are small and can easily be carried around or used for travel. The powder comes in five different shades (soft brown, medium brown, deep brown, blonde, & auburn). I received the product and the brow pencil in 130 Deep Brown.

Opening the chalk powder, you get a felt tip flat paddle that is covered with the product. You are to brush the product across your brow to shape and use the tip to fill in the tail of your brow. The product was easy to use and filled in my brows nicely. It provided a natural look to the brows instead of the “Instagram brows”.

I tried the product out immediately and it wore all day. In Louisiana humidity, it didn’t fade or run and kept my brows in place very well. It didn’t leave a waxy feeling to my brows. If I did rub my brows, the product did come off, but it was an okay product.

The only thing I didn’t like about the product was the color.

Like I mentioned, I received the product in Deep Brown but on my brows the powder (and subsequently the brow pencil) were gray almost to the point of making my brows look green. You can see in the pictures. This is upsetting.

I’m chocolate brown or deep brown in other brow products but the brow powder is just too light and too on the cool tone side for me.

The pencil was similar to other brow pencils that I’ve used but just a little harder tip than say ABH Brow Wiz or Milani brow pencil. I would like to use these products but the shade isn’t my shade.
