Beauty Subscription - Macy’s August 2017 Box

The first official month of the Macy’s Beauty Box is out and I like it! It’s not something outstanding but it’s a nice bag as an alternative to Sephora.

Priced at $15 USD, Macy’s Beauty Box comes with five samples and a bonus perfume sample (just like Sephora) along with a $5 coupon which is a good thing when you remember that there is free shipping from Macy’s!

I decided to do something different than what I do with my Sephora box - I decided to use the products from the bag to create a look. With 3 makeup products, it was easy and simple. Enjoy my review of the products and my simple sweet look with the products.

Tarte Maracuja Oil - I tried this oil a few times at night and it was a nice dry oil to use. A light oil with no scent and absorbed very well. This is one of the Tarte products I never heard much about and it’s a shame. For my dry skin, this is a good option to have in my routine.

MAC False Lashes Extreme Black Mascara - I’ve never tried many MAC products but I think I might add the full size of this. My lashes are already curled. I look for volume and a bit of length from my mascara. This provides it. I reminds me of the Maybelline Falsies Push-Up Drama mascara I had. It’s a nice wet mascara. It’s not waterproof (was definitely gone after my eye watered on time.)

Smashbox Cover Shot eyeshadow duo - I was so excited to get this. A nice little shadow duo that gives you a look at one of the Cover Shot palettes from Smashbox. The two shadows (Turned On & Psyched) are from the Golden Hour palette. Buttery and easy to blend out, this is a good little palette. There is some fall out if you dig your brush in, so be careful. I kind of want the full palette now. It’s a nice formula.

Philosophy Purity Made Simple Cleanser - I’ve tried this cleanser before and I really like it. It’s great cleanser. It’s great to use around the eyes to remove makeup. A gel cleanser that helps to tone and hydrate the skin without drying it out.

Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel - I thought this brow gel wasn’t going to match my brows but after filling them in with my brow pencil, the gel actually did well. I won’t really buy this product because Benefit is just falling lower and lower with the choices in advertising and collabs. They haven’t really come out with anything revolutionary in new products and their “classics” can be duped.

Not going to review the perfume because I haven’t really worn it but first impression was that it was a great fragrance.

I’m giving Macy’s a second month to see if it’s really a good bag but this was a good bag in my opinion.
