Beauty Subscription - Sephora December 2017

Play! By Sephora is a month beauty subscription box that offers product samples found at Sephora for $10/month. I’ve had this subscription for almost two year now and it’s been fun.

This box is the end of the year box with the theme “Glam Straight” - everything you need to be glam at that big New Year’s Eve party. Don’t do parties but glam is what I love. This box is better than last month with me being able to use more of the products. Two of the items for this month were chosen based off my profile on Sephora but it’s kind of confusing on one of them.

For this month:

DryBar Triple Sec 3 in 1 spray - This is a texturized hair spray to help add volume and body to the hair. *stares at camera* I have naturally coily hair which I’ve made clear on my profile and with my past purchases, yet Sephora sent me this. I’m not all the way made. I know that I can give it to my friend of put it in a giveaway but it would have been nice to get another Madame CJ Walker product.

Makeup Forever Artist Rouge Lipstick in Fuchsia Pink - I love MUFE. The eyeshadows are one of my favorite formulas. And they have one of my favorite nude lippies (Artist Rouge Lipstick No.9). This color makes me wonder. On my Sephora Play! Profile, it says tht this shade was picked because it matches my skin tone. I know that bright colors look great on dark skin but I don’t even wear my reds! I’m not going to wear this pink. I have one bright color that Sephora sent that I do want to wear and it’s the purple from KVD. I don’t know what I will do this. I might try it out but it’s really bright!

Caudalie Vine[Activ] Energizing and Smoothing Eye Cream - Like I said last month and will always say, I love Caudalie products. I haven’t had a bad product yet and the brand is worth the price. This eye cream is needed since I’m almost out of another.

Clinique Pretty Easy Liquid Eyelining Pen in Black - This is one of the spotlight items for this box. It was either this eyeliner or the Smashbox Covershot Duo which I already have from my Macy’s bag. I’m happy to get the eyeliner. I haven’t really purchased a black eyeliner for almost a year now since I had so many from subscription boxes and now I have a new one to use. I might need to get a new one though since both my KVDs are empty now *cry*

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Au Naturel - I actually have one of these from last year in Rose Gold and it's similar to the Bobbi Brown Cream Color Stick. This one is a pinky tone and is supposed to be a "nude" *rolls eyes*. I'll try to work with this color because the caviar sticks are so smooth and add a great shimmer to the eye.

Fragrance of the Month: Stella MacCartney Stella Eau de Parfum - This perfume I like. It’s the floral scent that I can wear. The top note is rose which is the best with added notes of mandarin, peony, and amber. I need to go back and do a full review on all of my perfume samples and pick my “favorite”. I don’t wear perfumes that all but I might change that in the new year.

This month was better than last month which keeps me holding on. I won’t cancel this time but I hope that Sephora does better since there are more people involved and they get a better system.
