Like the title says, these are just a few pieces of makeup that are going away because I’m not using them, they’re empty, or they didn’t work. This is all about clearing out my stash. New year, no more hoarding makeup! Just going to do short review of all the products here to say if I liked them or not.

  1. Sephora Wonderful Cushion in Walnut - Sephora tried their hand at cushions but not many picked up on it and there are still very few cushions that have my color which is sad. I picked this cushion up on sale to try but sadly, this is not my shade. It’s too light and since Sephora does not do the cushion anymore, I can’t get a new shade. The case is nice but bulky. Not something I could carry in my bag for touch ups.

  2. Lancome Miracle Cushion in 500 Suede W - My ultimate cushion. If I want another cushion in my life, i would buy this one. I was able to pick this one up on sale (you will see a theme!) and I loved it until it was empty. I’ve been holding on to this compact to remind me and give me FOMO. The shade is a perfect match which I love. The case is smaller than the Sephora one and is very minimalistic. I might look into getting a refill of the cushion and keep the case.

  3. Black Opal Deluxe Finishing Powder in Medium - I got this before I knew the real difference between finishing and setting powders and I was trying to follow behind Youtube “beauty gurus”. I now know more about makeup and my skin and don’t use powders that often and know that this powder was too much for me. I can’t really justify using this powder now and I didn’t like using it like I did with the Laura Mercier.

  4. MAC Cosmetics Studio Fix powder plus foundation in NW45 - My first foray into makeup was with MAC. This was one of my first foundations. I was on a business trip and decided I needed something for my dark circles. I was color matched with NW45, which is this one. Then months later I was matched with NW48 in a different state and then I couldn’t find when I got home. I haven’t been back to MAC since I bought brushes from there and really haven’t had the need to go back.

  5. NYX HD Finishing Powder (Banana) - Yes another finishing powder and this one is pressed. Once again, I didn’t know what I was doing and didn’t know how to work with this powder. Looking at it, I think I would be able to work with it and would like this powder. I’m not using it because it is old and needs to be tossed.

  6. Translucent Pressed Powder in Walnut & Matte Finish Foundation in Dark #1 - I got this from a local brand called Klutch Cosmetics and I really liked it. The foundation is actually empty and I hit pan in the powder. So really, these are just containers that need to be tossed. Nothing bad about either item. The brand is located in NOLA and I really don’t make it out there as much as I used to so I haven’t really reupped on the foundation, but I do have eyeshadow palettes that I might get rid of.

  7. Lancome Long Wear Eyeshadow Base in Sienna - I picked this up on sale from a MACY’s that was going out of business. I didn’t know what it was when I got it. I got it because it was Lancome. I’ve used it a few times and it was a nice base but I would either forget to use it or just not wear makeup as much. It’s been 2 years since I got it and my fingers have been in it so it’s going in the trash. No big lose since I got it for dirt cheap.

So those are the few products and containers that are being cleared out. I still have other things to clear out and this is a great way to start the new year.

Until next post,

XOXO
