I got this in a Sephora Favorites holiday samples kit. I’ve tried plenty of cleansing waters and micellar waters and I only use them when I’m being super lazy and don’t have my makeup wipes.
This cleansing water is different from any other as it’s thick, the key ingredient being rice. The cleansing water has rice hull powder and rice wine or rice ferment (sake) to help with cleansing and brightening the skin.
From Boscia’s website, this one-step makeup remover and cleanser provides benefits from not only the rice powder and unfiltered sake, but also glycolic acid, jojoba leaf and willowherb. So not only does it cleanse but it helps to revitalize the skin and get it ready for the rest of your routine.
Now I have sensitive skin, so I have to do a second cleanse after using any cleanser that isn’t foaming or my skin will break out and just not be good. So I was a little worried about it reacting with my skin but knew that I will have to rinse my face afterwards, even if this is a “no-rinse” cleanser.
I tested the cleanser out on a heavy makeup look and it cleansed it very well. Before using the cleanser, you will have to shake up the cleanser. With the rice powder, the cleanser is thick and translucent.

The bottle has a pump dispenser which makes it easier to get the right amount of product and not make a mess. I use the product with a cotton pad and easily remove my eye makeup and lip product before I got to my oil cleanser.
It's a good eye makeup remover and a okay first cleanser. Not adverse reaction with my skin but I won't use this as just a cleanser without rinsing or doing a second cleanse.
Have you tried this product? What are your thoughts?
You can get the full size (150ml) from Sephora for $22.50 USD or $30 USD from the Boscia site.
Until next post,
XOXO
