#XOReview - Dr. Wu Repairing System Intensive Repairing Serum With Squalane

I’m always cautious when it comes to trying new things. I don’t patch test mind you (I should), but I’m cautious. So when I was looking at MiiruShop and Eden, the head curator, emailed me and offering to help with jumping into Taiwanese beauty, she suggested this serum.

Dr. Wu Repairing System Intensive Repairing Serum with Squalane is an anti-aging serum that helps with restoring the skin barrier along with helping the skin looking youthful. I always look for items that will help with hyperpigmentation along with keep my skin hydrated and Eden said this serum was a good choice.

When I got this serum, my skin wasn’t doing well. I was actually breaking out and I didn’t want to use it and not really see any benefits, plus I wanted to make sure it didn’t contribute to my skin breaking out. I have weird sensitive skin that is really reactive to things (I need to go do an allergy test). So after going to a simple routine, clearing my skin, and finding the culprit, I started incorporating the serum.

I agree with Michele (colebiancardi on IG) when she said that this was liquid silk. It applied so smoothly, absorbed so nicely, and left my skin feel so nice!

The main ingredients are sweet almond oil (the very first ingredient!) and squalane which help with hydration, pigmentation, and the skin barrier. I tried to use the serum every day, usually after masking. Since it is an oil based serum, I used it closer to applying my moisturizer which helped my skin stay hydrated through the night.

If you don't know what squalene is, it a plant-derived moisture booster. Similar to squalene, that you naturally produce, squalene is an antioxidant that helps repair against UV damage, reduce hyperpigmentation, and is antibacterial.

The serum had no scent and was a clear oil serum that wasn't too thick and absorbed into the skin very quickly and very well. Though it did absorbed quickly, it didn't make the skin feel dehydrated or like I didn't put anything on. I loved using this serum.

Using the serum almost every day, my skin looked brighter and smoother. I absolutely loved and was so upset when I just the last of it. The only problem I had (which I caused) was the container leaking a little. I say I caused because I dropped it a few time which could have contributed to it leaking. Overall, I’m repurchasing the product once it’s restocked.

With this experience, I need to dive more in to Taiwanese beauty. So many good masks and products! Time to go back to MiiruShop!
