I want to start this review off by once again thanking JJ Young for reaching out and allowing me to try these products. I first found out about the brand from Peach Slices in CVS with the mud sheet masks. It’s because of my review of the Pore Charcoal Mud Sheet Mask that JJ Young reached out to me.

I have tried all three of the mud sheet masks (charcoal, rosehip, green tea) and they were wonderful. JJ Young provided the charcoal mask, so I will go over it again.

The sheet mask is a mud mask meaning that instead of essence, the mask is coated in in mud made from kaolin clay. The charcoal mask has the addition of charcoal power to help with refining the pores along with eliminating impurities while cleaning the skin. The mask is in two halves and fits comfortable on the face.

It is messy as it’s a mud mask but the best thing is that there is no fragrance (none I detected) and you feel like you having a spa day with the mask. The mask is kept on for 15-30 minutes. By 30 minutes, the mask is dry and formed to the face. After removing, a quick rinse, my skin felt soft and cleansed. It is a bit drying since it is a mud mask with charcoal but not to drastic for me and I was able to continue on with my routine.

Like I said, the other two have rosehip and green tea for rejuvenation and soothing respectively along with hydration. I can say that my skin felt better after each mud mask. It’s not an every day mask but a once a week mask to just feel renewed and just feel better.

Ingredients:

Water, Kaolin, Butylene Glycol, Bentonite, Polysorbate 20, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Sea Silt, Betaine, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Volcanic Ash, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate, Sodium Polyacrylate, Polyvinyl Alcohol, Xanthan Gum, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Ethylhexylglycerin, Trideceth-6, Charcoal Powder, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol

Where to buy: CVS or Peach&Lily for $4.99 USD

Next, I was provided with three different masks and a multi cream. I will go over each mask but first the final review on the Pore Glow Mask.

As I stated on IG, this is probably my favorite because it is a clay mask. The others do contain kaolin clay but this is a straight clay based mask.

The mask is a brightening clay mask with pomegranate, fig, gingko and mulberry to help brighten and moisturize the skin along with menthol to cool the skin.

I want to emphasize the menthol in this mask. It’s very strong and hits you as soon as you open the jar. If you are sensitive to scents you may not like this mask. Along with the menthol, I didn’t see any kind of adverse reactions to my skin, but always patch test.

The mask is an off white, pearl color and is very thick. I was provided a small spatula but in the end, I ended up using my own for better coverage. It spread very easily. A thick layer isn’t needed but enough to cover you face is needed. Along with gingko, mulberry, fig, pomegranate, and menthol, the mask also has niacinamide, titanium dioxide, olive oil, and anise extract.

I didn’t experience any tingling or burning with the mask but it did give a cooling effect. I liken the feel to the cooling effect I get from my Dr. Jart green clay to foam cleanser. It’s a much needed thing for the high summers down here in the Southern US and will help a lot.

I kept the mask on for 10 minutes, rinsing off just as easy as it was applied. The mask didn’t dry down too much like other clay masks which made it easier to remove. Usually clay masks are a struggle, but this one was not. I did see a bit of brightening after removing the mask. I was really surprised. This makes me think the mask will be great for a quick masking session before a being event to have brighter youthful skin to dazzle them all.

The menthol and the easy to use of this mask just makes it a number one for me out of all the products and would definitely recommend for others to use.
