What’s better than strawberry and chocolate together? If you’re allergic to either, everything else. LOL!
I’ve tried a few milk masks and they’ve never done me wrong. The milk protein often present adds the benefit of lactic acid to help the skin look brighter, softer, and more youthful.
It was said that Queen Cleopatra bathe in milk to get her beautiful looks. I’m not an Egyptian queen, so I have to go with milk sheet masks.
Today’s WTD post is focusing on the G9Skin Milk Bomb Masks. I picked these masks up from Kohl’s for $4.99USD which is a little much for these masks, but considering the priced was upped for the US market, I understand. Doesn’t mean I like it.
I’ve tried all four mask in the Milk Bomb line but will only go over the last two I used, Strawberry and Chocolate.
First up is the Strawberry Milk Bomb Mask.
The Strawberry milk mask is a brightening mask with milk protein extract and strawberry fruit extract. The mask is said to help tone the skin to help dull skin look clear and lively. I love masks with strawberry extracts. I love strawberries, period. So I was upset with this mask for one reason, the scent.
Along with the 1000ppm of milk protein extract, the mask has lotus extract, eucalyptus leaf extract, oregano extract, hibiscus, ivy leaf, linseed, along with many different fruit extracts. I can't really tell what could make the fragrance (besides the bit of fragrance that's in it) that could make this bad.
The mask was like the others, a microfiber soaked in a creamy essence. It’s the scent that turned me off. Opening the packet, you get a faint sweet/perfumey smell that wants to smell like strawberries but just smells like chemicals. That scent persisted even after removal and it made me sick to my stomach. It was just terrible!
I kept the mask on for 20 minutes, even with the scent, and after removal, my skin looked a bit brighter and smoother. Nothing special in the look of the skin.
It makes for a nice base for your routine or makeup. My skin was hydrated and nice for the end of my routine but because the essence is cream (and this applies to them all), it would be best to put the thinner products in your routine on before the mask. So, basically use this near when you use your oil and/or moisturizer.
This is my least favorite of the four because of the scent. If the scent wasn’t so bad, I would definitely repurchase this one.
Next up is the chocolate milk mask.
It’s a pore microfiber mask with a creamy essence. This one, yes, smells like chocolate milk. A lot better than the strawberry one.
The chocolate mask has the 1000ppm of milk protein, lotus, oregano, and linseed extract but the added plus of cocoa, lemon, horse chestnut, soybean, coffee, and peppermint. A more favorable essence than the strawberry and surprise by the addition of peppermint.
This is supposed to be a “What’s the Difference” but besides the scent and ingredients, there really isn’t any difference. They are all microfiber mask and though they have different purposes, they all really hydrated the skin and make my skin look plump and nice.
In the end, if the price wasn’t so high, I would repurchase them. I really like milk masks and my skin likes them but the determining factor out of this is the scent and the price.
The pure milk, banana, and chocolate milk masks are the best while the strawberry milk one is just a no-go for me.
Until next post,
XOXO
