Colourpop is a nice brand. A lot of lippies and eyeshadows. My first jump into the brand was purchasing the Hello Kitty collaboration Super Shock set which I hit pan in two of them. Since then I’ve purchase a few lippies and have been eyeing the new pressed eyeshadows.
I picked up the Makeup Revolution concealer from Ulta but it turned out to not be my right color. When Vicki (Foodie_looks) told me that the Colourpop concealer was on sale. So I picked up two shades that I thought would match me. Sadly no.
I picked up two of the No Filter Concealers in Dark 42 and Dark 46. Both are too light for me but I decided to use 46 as a highlighting shade. Well, after using it a few times, the irritating cystic acne spot popped up. Now it’s been months since I’ve broken out and I know that only way these blemishes come around is when I use something that’s absolutely irritating to my skin. The I’ve been rotating in replacement products but this concealer was the only new item. Well, after a few days of not using it, the blemish is all but gone. And the concealers are going bye-bye.
Another reason this purchase was just a bad bunch was the eyeshadow palette. Not really a traditional palette, a collection of three Super Shock shadows. I picked “1-800” trio - Melrose, Coronado, and Peekaboo. I was really pulled to this trio by the shade “Melrose” which is such a beautiful terracotta shade. It’s also one of the matte shades that Colourpop developed which I haven’t tried.
Swatches: Dark 42, Dark 46, Melrose, Coronado, Peekaboo

Well, the first day I tried it, I was almost late for work. I applied Melrose on and topped it with Coronado, a glitter shadow. A minute after, my eyes started itching and watering. After removing my eye makeup twice, it came to my realization that my shadow was making my eyes itch. After testing it a second time, it was Melrose, the shade that I wanted the most, that was making my eyes itch.
I don’t know if it’s because of the color or because it was a matte formula (the HK shadows were glitter/satin shadows), but it’s not working for me. Really, it’s said because the shadow is buttery and beautiful, but it doesn’t work for me.
With this bad purchase, I’ve decided to not really purchase from Colourpop for some time. I don’t know if anyone else has had these issues (probably not because my skin is too weird for me), but just wanted to put it out there what reaction I had with these products.
Until Next Post,
XOXO
