Welcome to my blog! I’m glad you decided to come and check out the results of this battle of rubber moisture masks.

For a recap of what this month was: I was able to find three rubber masks at three different price points that essentially do the exact same thing. I wanted to see which one does the job and which one would be a good purchase or repurchase. I showcased each mask for #SheetmaskSunday while taking notes for the final results.

I wore all three masks for 30 minutes and tried to post a bit of my thoughts on the morning after on my IG. Now for the collective results. Let’s start!.

Scinic Dual Rubber Mask - Moist Wrapping Mask (S Mask)

This is the middle range mask, coming in at $7.50USD and I found it at Ulta. This was actually the mask the spurred this project. I wanted to compare it to the D Mask and the M Mask came in as a late contender.

I’ve tried the lifting version of this mask and didn’t see results with that one but this one was different.

Unlike the M mask, the cream was in a separate container that was not attached to the mask. Also this mask was the heaviest with the most product - 5ml cream and 45g mask. The mask is actually a paler blue than the M mask but the same fit.

Only one con with this mask and it’s the scent. It wasn’t that it smelled like lavender, but that it smelled like rubber. The cream actually had a citrus scent that was faint and was overpowered by the rubber mask.

No reaction with mask. With the thick cream, it was like I had a sleeping mask for the night. I did fall asleep with this mask on but it wasn’t bad. My skin felt soft and hydrated the next morning and was very happy with my skin for the day

Masqueology Intensive Moisturizing Rubber Mask (M Mask)

This is one was located at Walmart for $3 USD and a surprising find for me. I’ve used Masqueology mask before and it’s a hit or miss with me. A nice cheap option if you want to try sheet masks but not ones I will look for. Mainly because of fragrance being very prominent. I mentioned that one of the top ingredients in this mask and the intensive cream was lavender water and I don’t really like the scent of lavender. It smells like just plain soap and not something I want on my face. Fragrance as an ingredient is high on the list and not really good for sensitive skin types. Usually, I find that Masqueology masks have a strong floral scents that can turn a lot of people away. That being said, this mask didn’t break me out and I have reactive skin that will tell me if something is clogging my skin.

I had another problem with how the cream was not in a detachable packet. The foil packet was already difficult to open and with the mask still attached, if was a task to get the cream out and still open the mask. It was just a pet peeve for me.

This mask had the least amount of product out of all three with 2ml of cream and the mask being 30g. The cream did spread easily and the mask only stayed once I laid down, but that was the same for all. A nice 30 minute name while masking and getting moisturized skin.

In the end, the mask did it’s job with moisturizing my skin and worked well. The rest of my routine went on without any problem. I think because of my use of a AHA, my skin wasn’t as moisturized as I would like. Using this mask was like using a cheap cotton mask.

Dr. Jart Rubber Mask Hydration Lover (D Mask)

The final mask of this project and the one that most people would have known. I wasn’t going to get this mask at all before this project. It seemed like a gimmick and if I wanted a rubber mask I would do the mixing DIY version. This is the high end mask at $12USD, a major jump in price.

Like the S mask, this mask has the cream in a separate container and contains 5ml of cream. The mask is only 43g, a little less than the S Mask.Though I haven’t been looking at this mask, I was excited to try it out.

The cream, almost a gel, had a slime-like consistency (it would coagulate when push but would just run if not manipulated). It has a lavender/citrus scent - a mix of M and S mask, LOL!. The mask had the same scent.

The only con with this mask is that it was so delicate. While putting it on, I ended up with about 3 tears in the mask. It is a thinner rubber than the others which would explain the tears but I would rather a $12 mask not rip so easily.

I kept the mask on for 30 minutes and after my skin felt sticky and it stayed sticky even after the rest of my routine and into the morning until I rinsed my face. I’ve never had a product that kept my face so sticky for so long. From other reviews of this, I don’t remember then mentioning the stickiness which is a major thing considering how you want your products to absorb not stay on the surface.

End results

Like I said, all three did their job, more or less. My skin had no adverse reaction and was moisturized for the night and into the morning. They had their pros and cons and judging form all the facts and tries, there is only one I would repurchase.

The winner is…..

Scinic Dual Rubber Mask!

Despite the rubber smell of the mask, this mask had the most product and kept my face moisturized and hydrated for the next day. The mask was easy to use and just a nice experience. And with it being the middle price range, it’s a nice splurge of a mask.

I would recommend all the mask, TBH. Whatever your price range, you can just pick up one of these masks and have a hydrated night. I don’t know how this mask would do for those with combo/oily skin as the creams are thick and could cause more problems but for those with dry skin, I would say look into try these out.

Did you enjoy this project as much as I did! Let me know on my Instagram with a like and comment!

Until Next Post,

XOXO
