What’s the Difference - Snail (Cosrx vs Oh!K Life)

Another month and another WTD hot off the presses! This month’s ingredient is one that anyone into snail beauty or getting into snail beauty has heard about. It’s slimy, it’s sticky, and it helps to soothe and repair the skin (or does it?). IT’S SNAIL! Let’s just jump right into it. I’ll be comparing the Cosrx Holy Moly Snail Mask and the Oh K! Life Intense Hydration Snail sheet mask. Let’s start with the Oh K! Life mask.

I picked up the Oh K! Life Snail Sheet Mask from CVS for $4.50 USD. I’ve tried a couple of masks from this line before and they aren’t really amazing but good hydrating masks. The company is based in the UK and marketed as a “kbeauty product”. The mask essence is very thin and watery with a light floral scent to it. The essence ingredients does include the snail secretion filtrate along with Chamomile flower extract, Centella asiatica and fragrance at the end. There is also alcohol but you could not really tell from the scent.

The mask is a thin cotton mask and rougher than the Cosrx mask. I kept the mask on for 20 minutes. A thin mask that really was good for hydration but nothing special for me. There was a lot of essence left in the packet which I patted into the mask while wearing. A good hydration mask but not one I see myself purchasing in the future.

Next is the Cosrx Holy Moly Snail Mask. I don’t remember where I go this mask and I really can’t find the mask except on sites that I haven’t tried before, so I won’t recommend them. It looks like it’s been discontinued, but I hope not! If so, this will be a sad review.

The Cosrx mask is a fiber mask soaked in a red ginseng based essence. The red ginseng actually tints the mask a orange/red color which I love. I used to get a lot of red ginseng masks which gives this mask a one up on the Oh K! Life mask. Corsx mask has no scent and has a nice fit. I kept the mask on for 20 minutes and after removal, I saw something I didn’t see with the other mask. My skin looked matte and glowing. I was so in love with how it made my skin look and really I didn’t have to use extra products after the mask. My skin was very hydrated that I used a bit of moisturizer and was ready for bed. I think you can see the clear winner here.

Between the masks, I feel biased because I’ve used the Cosrx mask before and it’s really a FOMO item when it came out. It’s a great mask and it does the job of nourishing the face. I’m kind of upset that the mask may be discontinued but I would definitely recommend Cosrx over the Oh K! Life. If you are looking for other good snail products, try out the Benton brand and Cosrx’s other snail products.

Until next post,

XOXO
