#WashOffWednesday - Herbivore Blue Tansy Resurfacing Clarity Mask

I’ve seen this mask all over the IG but wasn’t really interested into it until I got my hands on it. I picked it up in a set with the Blue Lapis facial oil, which was the product that I wanted out of the set.

This gel mask is a AHA/BHA mask that clarifies and smooths the skin with natural ingredients. I haven’t really used many products with blue tansy, a flower found naturally in Morocco. The Blue Lapis oil was first a sample that I kind of feel for. It’s an essential oil that has claims of being anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and anti-inflammatory to the skin.

This mask is a resurfacing mask that uses natural AHA and BHA to help exfoliate and smooth the skin while being cooling to the skin. The natural BHA (white willow bark extract) helps to unclog pores and clear the skin while the natural AHA (fruit enzymes) smooth and soften the skin.

Opening the jar, the scent is very strong and medicinal, in my opinion. It’s not bad but if you aren’t in it for scents, I would avoid this mask. It’s a gel mask and very drippy. I’ve almost spilt it a couple of times. It was easy to apply and it did kind of drip on my face after application.

Now due to the AHA and BHA, the mask does tingle. The company says it’s natural but it made me want to scratch my nose and just rub my face. It did go away after 5 minutes but it was irritating. I kept the mask on for 10 minutes since it’s my first time using. It states if you have sensitive skin to try for 5 minutes but normally 15 to 20 minutes. I will try this mask another time and go for longer.

After 10 minutes, I rinsed the mask off and my skin did appear brighter. My skin felt soft and just a bit better after the mask. I think I can see myself using this mask more since it’s an acid and mask in one. In combination with the Blue Lapis oil, it would be a great routine.
