What’s The Difference - Bath and Body Works Sheet Masks

So, when Bath and Body works started with their skincare products, I was a little hesitant. I mean, they make perfume-y items and everything has a strong scent. You don't want ANY of that on your face. It's no bueno!
But I decided to just into the masks for you all and try out the five "seasonal" mask. I call them seasonal because they came out around the autumn/winter season and looked very festive. There are other sheet masks at BBW that I might look into but after this, it's not very likely.
I picked up the five masks which were Apple Cider Vinegar, Pumpkin, Red Wine, Honey, and Oatmeal. Very unique ingredients which all have great benefits for the skin but in these masks, were a disappointment (spoiler!)
First up is the Illuminating mask which has apple cider vinegar. Now there are a few home remedies that involved apple cider vinegar, mainly as an acid exfoliant. It does work and I kind of screwed up my skin with a homemade acid wipe that I used with apple cider vinegar and lemon juice (I can hear you all and my skin screaming). With this mask, it was a bit different.

The ingredient list does state “vinegar” and it’s not too high but it has plenty of other fruit extracts including blackberry, blueberry, and strawberry. The mask essence also has houttuynia cordata extract which is a great anti-inflammatory antioxidant for the skin.
I kept the mask on for 10 minutes (as instructed) and patted in the essence. My skin was kind of sticky afterwards but no real difference in my skin lookin brighter or illuminated. After applying the rest of my routine, the stickiness did go away.
This being the first mask, I had my hopes a little high but it was just a moisturizing mask but nothing too exciting.
Second mask was the revitalizing mask with red wine extract. At this point, I looked at all the masks and they almost all just simply state that they have the main ingredient extract but not how much or what class/genus (look! I remember Bio!) of the ingredient. This one simply says wine extract. It has the same ingredients as the apple cider vinegar mask, otherwise.
Also, like the apple cider mask, no scent and soaked in a clear essence. I kept the mask on for 10 minutes. No big difference.
After this point, I used the last 3 of the set and again, i saw no real change besides being hydrated. I did have a breakout on my face but none of the masks really helped with it.
I'm not upset with trying these masks but I wish the “key ingredient” were more prominent and helped the skin instead of hydration. I would recommend these if they're on sale and you wanna try them. Other than that, it's a pass on repurchasing. I am interested in more of BBW’s skincare and if it's actually good.
Until next post,
XOXO
