#XOReview - The Ouai REPAIR Shampoo & Conditioner

To go over the whole rhetoric, I’ve been natural for 1.5 years now and I want to be a product junkie but I don’t want my hair to fall out, so I’m in between - I’ll try products but still end up buying products I’ve used before.
Since it’s wash day, I wanted to try a new product. I had four foil packets of The Ouai REPAIR shampoo and conditioner that I was just going to let collect dust because I didn’t know if they would work on my coil hair.
At first, I didn’t think there would be enough product to cover my whole head, so I just used it on one side to compare to by regular OGX Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo and Conditioner.
First up was the shampoo which lathered up very quickly as soon as it hit my hair. I was worried that there was a sulfate, but the shampoo actually contains DLS (Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate) which is an alternative that will cleanse the hair but not strip it.

The shampoo did have a fragrance and lathered very much but it was easy to wash out. My hair didn’t feel heavy with the product or even after which was nice.
The real test came with the conditioner. I have low porosity and I need a conditioner that will give good slip. Sadly, the foil packets weren’t enough for the thickness of my hair so I had to only do the front fourth of my hair. In that section, I was surprised how it didn’t make my hair feel stiff and was actually adding slip to my curl.
I didn't deep condition and just rinsed out the conditioners. My hair was soft and looked great before I even added products. I don’t know about frizz. It looked a bit frizzy but not too crazy and will be tamed once I add other things. Also, since this shampoo and conditioner had keratin protein to help with repair of hair, it really helped with making my hair soft.
In the end, I might be looking to try more Ouai products. This was the same revelation I had with Living Proof. I don’t see many people like me using these products, so I don’t think they’re for me, but they work very well.

Until next post,
XOXO
